Enemy Mine is what happens when space racism crashes headfirst into a survival story and realizes it has to share a cave. A human pilot and his alien enemy go from “I will absolutely kill you” to “fine, I guess we’re raising a baby together” faster than you can say “hostile work environment.” The movie spends a surprising amount of time proving that even across galaxies, parenting is exhausting and men will still argue about whose culture is better. By the end, it’s less about war and more about grudging respect, emotional growth, and the universal truth that nothing bonds people like being stuck somewhere awful with no way out.
